Shared Connectors

Last updated: June 24, 2026

Shared connectors let one person connect an integration so the whole team can use it. Before this, each teammate had to connect every integration themselves — which meant work stalled whenever someone hadn't yet connected a tool like Jira or GitHub. Now the owner of a connection can share it, and Rhythms automatically picks up the right credentials when you work in chat and through MCP calls.

Shared connectors are most useful when everyone on a team hits the same source — a shared GitHub org, a team Jira project, or any integration backed by one common account.

Sharing a connection

If you own a connection, you can share it from your connector settings:

  1. Open My Connectors.
  2. Find the integration you want to share.
  3. Choose to share the connection, then select the teammates or team who should be able to use it.

Once shared, your teammates can select that connection without setting up their own.

Using a shared connection

When a connection has been shared with you, you can pick it up without re-authenticating:

  1. Open My Connectors.
  2. Locate the shared integration.
  3. Select it as your default for that integration.

After you set a default, Rhythms automatically uses the right credentials when you run actions in chat or through MCP — you don't have to choose the connection each time.

Setting defaults per integration

You can set a default connection for each integration in My Connectors. This matters when more than one connection exists for the same tool — for example, your own connection plus one shared by a teammate. The default determines which credentials Rhythms uses for that integration in chat and MCP calls.

Role What you can do
Connection owner Connect an integration and share it with teammates or a team
Teammate Select a shared connection and set it as your default
Everyone Set a default per integration in My Connectors

FAQ

Who can share a connection? The owner of a connection — the person who set it up — can share it.

Do my teammates see my credentials? No. Teammates use the shared connection to run actions against the connected source, but they select it rather than seeing the underlying credentials.

What if I have both my own connection and a shared one for the same tool? Set the one you want as your default per integration in My Connectors. Rhythms uses your default for that integration in chat and MCP calls.

Which integrations is this useful for? Any integration where the team hits the same source — shared GitHub orgs, team Jira projects, and similar shared accounts.

Does sharing a connection work in MCP calls? Yes. Once you've selected a shared connection as your default, Rhythms uses it for both in-app chat and MCP calls.
