AI Goal Authoring
Rhythms can help you write better OKRs faster. The AI assistant can generate complete goal proposals — Key Results, Child Objectives, or full OKR sets — based on your context, so you spend less time on drafting and more time on alignment.
Generating Key Results for an Objective
When you have an Objective and need to build out its Key Results:
- Open the Objective's detail page
- Click Generate Key Results (or ask in chat: "Generate Key Results for this objective")
- Rhythms analyzes the objective's title, description, team, and time period and proposes 3–5 Key Results
- Review the proposals:
- Edit the title, target value, or metric type for any KR
- Delete any proposals you don't want
- Add additional KRs manually
- Click Add to objective to create the approved KRs
Generating Child Objectives
For Objectives that need to be broken down into sub-objectives for different teams:
- Open the parent Objective
- Click Generate Child Objectives (or ask in chat: "Break this objective down for my product, engineering, and design teams")
- Rhythms proposes child objectives aligned to the parent, optionally tailored to specific teams
- Review, edit, and approve
Drafting a Full Goal Proposal via Chat
For a more guided experience — especially useful when starting from scratch or building out a new OKR cycle:
- Open the Rhythms chat
- Describe what you're trying to achieve: "We want to expand into enterprise accounts this quarter. Help me draft an Objective and Key Results for the sales team."
- Rhythms drafts a complete proposal: one Objective with 3–5 KRs, pre-filled with type (numeric, percentage, binary), targets, owners, and team alignment
- Review the proposal in the chat — edit inline or ask Rhythms to adjust ("make the targets more aggressive" / "add a KR for retention")
- Click Create goals to add the approved goals to your workspace
Using AI to Improve Existing Goals
You can ask Rhythms to review and improve goals you've already written:
- "Is this Key Result measurable? How would you rewrite it?"
- "This objective is too vague — help me sharpen it"
- "Suggest a better metric for tracking this KR"
Rhythms will explain what's weak about the current goal and offer a rewrite. You decide whether to apply the suggestion.
Tips for Better AI-Generated Goals
Give context. The more Rhythms knows about your team, focus area, and time period, the better the proposals. Include team name, quarter, and what success looks like.
Iterate. Don't accept the first draft as-is. Use the chat to ask for alternatives, push back on targets, or request a different structure.
Anchor to your strategy. If you have a parent Objective already set, Rhythms will align generated goals to it automatically.
Frequently Asked Questions
Will AI-generated goals be published automatically? No — all AI proposals require your review and explicit approval before being created in your workspace.
Can I ask Rhythms to write goals in a specific format or framework? Yes — you can specify frameworks in your prompt: "Write these as OKRs using the 'We will X as measured by Y' format" or "Follow the Measure What Matters structure."
Can Rhythms generate goals based on data from my integrations? Yes — if you have integrations connected, you can ask Rhythms to reference live data when setting targets: "Based on last quarter's pipeline data, suggest a realistic ARR target for Q3."
