Send Files to Rhythms in Slack
Last updated: July 1, 2026
You can share files with Rhythms directly in Slack. Attach a document, screenshot, or spreadsheet to a message — or forward a message that already has one — and Rhythms reads the file and uses it in its response. This works alongside everything else you can do with Rhythms in Slack, so you can hand it a file and ask a question in the same message.
Send a file to Rhythms
- In Slack, open a direct message with Rhythms or a channel where Rhythms is present.
- Attach a file to your message the way you normally would in Slack, or forward a message that already contains a file.
- Add any instructions or a question in the same message (for example, "summarize this" or "pull the Q3 targets out of this sheet").
- Send the message. Rhythms reads the attached file and responds using its contents.

FAQ
What types of files can Rhythms read? Common documents, images such as screenshots, and spreadsheets. Attach the file and ask Rhythms what you need from it.
Can I forward a message that already has a file attached? Yes. Forwarding a message that contains a file works the same as uploading the file directly — Rhythms reads the attachment either way.
Do I need to do anything to turn this on? No. If Rhythms is installed in your Slack workspace, you can send it files.
Can I ask a question about the file in the same message? Yes. Include your instructions or question in the message with the file and Rhythms will respond using the file's contents.
