Step 1: Verify Jira Integration Activation
Make sure you have OKR Admin permissions in Rhythms.
Head to the Admin settings page. In Integrations, make sure Jira is activated.
Step 2: Choose Your Objective and Key Result
Select your desired Objective and Key Result which you want to connect to Jira.
Step 3: Initiate a Check-in from Jira
On the Key Result, select Check-in and Connect a data source. Select Jira. This action starts the Jira authentication process.
Step 4: Authenticate with Jira
Click Jira when prompted. You'll be redirected to an authentication page that details the requested scopes: access to project/issue data and user profile details.
Choose Accept.
Step 5: Grant Access and Locate Jira Cloud
The system displays your accessible Jira clouds. If you only have access to one, you'll proceed directly.
Step 6: Copy and Paste JQL Filter
Copy the JQL filter provided from Jira, then paste it into the JQL Query field in Rhythms for tracking.
Step 7: Preview Matching Jira Tickets
Preview displays the tickets pulled by the JQL filter. Here, you'll see the 13 tickets associated with your filter.
Step 8: Select Metrics to Track
Select the metric you want to track: completed count, original estimate, remaining estimate, progress, story points, or time spent.
Step 9: Connect to Jira and Review Data
Click Connect to pull data from Jira. Rhythms shows the updated count of completed, in-progress, and pending tickets. Review the automatic draft summary for your check-in.
Step 10: Finalize and Submit Your Check-in
Review and update the check-in summary as needed. Click Check-in to confirm. This logs your progress and keeps data refreshed.
Step 11: Confirm the AI-generated summary from the Jira metric update
Once this setup is complete, your Key Results metric will update automatically from live Jira data (refreshes once per day). For every future check-in, Rhythms will sync Jira and generate intelligent updates, so your team spends less time on manual status writing.
