Introduction
Tailoring OKR terminology in Rhythms turns a standard framework into your team’s own, enhancing adoption by aligning with familiar language. Some companies use "Goals" or "Targets" instead of OKRs, "Priorities" or "Milestones" over objectives, and "Metrics" or "Wins" rather than key results.
As admins, you can tweak these terms to match your organization's strategy execution process. This guide walks you through how you can customize Rhythms to fit your workflow seamlessly.
Note: This feature is available only to admin users.
Customizing Terminology
Step 1: Navigate to the admin portal. This is the central hub for managing your organization's settings in Rhythms. Here, you'll find an option to change the terminology used in the platform, allowing you to make it more relatable for your team.
Step 2: Look for the option named Terminology in the left navigation. By default, Rhythms uses the terms OKRs, objectives, key results, and Initiatives to refer to the objects in the platform. These terms are widely recognized in goal-setting frameworks, but they might not align with how your organization communicates its goals and priorities.
Step 3: Here, you can customize the terms used. For instance, you might want to rename OKRs as Goals. This change can make the platform more intuitive for users who are unfamiliar with the OKR framework but understand the concept of goals. You can change Objective to Priority and Key Result to Success Metric.
Step 4: These changes will be automatically reflected in the platform. This real-time update ensures that your team immediately sees the new terminology, reducing confusion and reinforcing the customized language. Check the home screen. You'll see that the OKRs tab is now renamed to Goals. The new objective option in the top right corner is now called New Priority. These updates make the interface more aligned with your team's expectations and workflow.
Conclusion
By following these steps, you’ve tailored the terminology in Rhythms to align with your team’s expectations. This customization enhances clarity and drives engagement, making OKR management seamless.
