Dashboard auto-refresh

Last updated: April 8, 2026

Keep dashboards up to date automatically by scheduling recurring refreshes that pull the latest data from your connected integrations.

Dashboard auto-refresh keeps your dashboards current by pulling fresh data from connected integrations on a recurring schedule. Instead of manually regenerating dashboard content before each review, you can configure a refresh cadence and let Rhythms handle it automatically.

When to Use Auto-Refresh

Auto-refresh is useful when your dashboards pull data from external sources like Salesforce, Jira, or other connected integrations.

Common scenarios:

  • Weekly or monthly business reviews — Schedule refreshes before your regular review cadence so dashboards are always current

  • Executive dashboards — Keep high-visibility dashboards up to date without manual intervention

  • Cross-functional dashboards — Aggregate data from multiple integrations that change frequently

Set Up Auto-Refresh

You configure dashboard auto-refresh through the Rhythms chat.

1. Open a Chat Conversation

Navigate to any chat thread in Rhythms.

2. Request a Refresh Schedule

Tell the AI assistant which dashboard to refresh and how often.

Examples:

  • “Refresh the Q2 Business Review dashboard every Monday at 9 AM”

  • “Set up a daily refresh for the Sales Pipeline dashboard”

  • “Refresh my MBR dashboard weekly”

3. Confirm the Schedule

The assistant configures the refresh and confirms the cadence. Your dashboard will refresh automatically at the scheduled times.

Note: Auto-refresh uses the dashboard creator’s connected integrations to pull data. Make sure the relevant integrations are connected before setting up a refresh schedule.

How It Works

When a scheduled refresh runs, Rhythms re-generates the dashboard content using the latest data from your connected integrations.

  • Refreshes run in the background — you do not need to be online or have the dashboard open

  • After each refresh, the dashboard reflects the most recent data

  • Previous versions are preserved in version history, so you can compare changes over time

Manage Refresh Schedules

To change or remove a refresh schedule, use the chat:

Examples:

  • “Change the Sales Pipeline dashboard refresh to every Friday”

  • “Stop auto-refreshing the Q2 Business Review dashboard”

Best practice:
Schedule refreshes to run before your recurring meetings. For example, if your team reviews OKR progress every Monday morning, set the dashboard to refresh Sunday evening or early Monday.
